On Friday, we learned Adele was forced to cancel all her remaining appearances and performances because she has to have surgery to repair the “current issues” she has with her throat (which doctors diagnosed as a vocal chord hemorrhage). She is expected to make a full recovery if she truly rests her voice after the procedure, but a lack of information about the severity of her condition caused a rumor to surface that the British singer also has cancer.
Last night the hashtag “#PRAYFORADELE” became a trending topic on Twitter, and users just assumed it meant the songstress’s condition was a lot worse than we were originally told. However, Adele’s representative was quick to remove any kind of misunderstandings we may have had about the situation by releasing a statement today, which says “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false.” And while that’s a relief, we really do wish Adele a speedy recovery from any affliction she may have.
