Nicole Richie and Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM of the Los Angeles club scene) have shocked fans by announcing the end of their nine-month engagement following a year of dating.
Richie ‘s publicist, Cindy Marguenti, confirmed the split, first reported by TV show Access Hollywood and Us Weekly magazine, to The Associated Press yesterday, but didn’t reveal any information regarding the break-up other than that it had been in the works for several days.
This is not the first public split for 24-year-old Richie , who ended a long friendship with Paris Hilton, her co-star in the reality TV show The Simple Life over the past year. The two former best friends recently signed on for another season of the popular series, which will move from Fox to E! featuring a new format that will not require any shared screen time.
Richie is the daughter of R&B singer Lionel Richie and author of the recently-published novel The Truth about Diamonds.
