Jersey Shore‘s Snooki got a book deal. Simon & Schuster’s something or other section announced today it will publish a novel written by her that’s tentatively been titled, A Shore Thing. But there really shouldn’t be anything “tentatively” about it… that’s exactly what the title should be. I wonder if the person who came up with it knows how much it sounds like A SURE Thing… and if that was intentional, Skinny Alec Baldwin can never come back because we’ve just become too advanced for him to ever thrive in this kind of society.
Apparently it’s fiction (which is kind of a let down because a Snooki autobiography would be better), and the story revolves around an Italian girl who’s looking for love on the Boardwalk. It’s scheduled to be released in January, and of its release, Snooki said in a statement, “I’m pumped to announce to my fans a project that I’ve been working on for some time. This book will have you falling in love at the shore. It’s A Shore Thing!” Get it? IT’S A SURE THING she’ll have us falling in love at the shore, but it’s also a SHORE thing too? The SHORE book is for SURE? Her statement kind of proves she understands the joke. But can you imagine how much time and effort it must have taken one person to get it into her head? And how to use it in conversation? And why it’s funny? And how disappointed Microsoft Powerpoint was in itself after it had been used for such a purpose?
