Last week we learned that even Britney Spears’ parents think she’s mentally unstable, as they won’t allow her to testify in a court case between Sam Lutfi (Britney’s former manager) and Lynne Spears (Britney’s mother). There was a strong possibility that Britney was going to have to undergo a mental evaluation to determine her competency. But even though no such evaluation has taken place yet, we can all agree that her performances at last night’s Billboard Awards are not indicative of an awareness of her surroundings.
The first time we saw her was with Rihanna when the show first started, participating in a duet of S&M. Rihanna was fine on her own but when Britney came out (wearing a mask that was clearly the reason why the Donnie Darko director chose to go with a full bunny suit rather than just a headdress), things got much worse. She was most obviously lip syncing, and walked around the stage like she was a jockey wandering through a stable while trying to figure out which horse could win the Triple Crown.
Then Britney came out again during the second song that Nicki Minaj performed, and sang about a crouton’s worth of her Till the World Ends. THERE ARE SEDATED GUINEA PIGS WITH MORE EXCITEMENT THAN THIS.
So do we think that, in Britney’s head, there’s no difference between what she’s doing and this? CALL ANOTHER WITNESS, LUTFI!
