2002 Fall Movie Guide — Ghost Ship

Ghost Ship

The Players: Julianna Margulies, Gabriel Byrne, Ron Eldard, Isaiah Washington, Desmond Harrington, Alex Dimitriades, Karl Urban, Emily Browning; directed by Steve Beck (Thirteen Ghosts).

The Skinny: A modern-day scavenger boat cruising the Bering Sea discovers a luxurious passenger ship missing since 1953 and begin towing it to shore. But on the trip back, the crew finds themselves trapped aboard the phantom vessel, where they discover its horrific secret.

The Bottom Line: A spooky seafaring tale (from the unlikey producing team of Robert Zemeckis and Joel Silver) released just in time for Halloween, Ghost Ship will be the first major big-screen outing for Margulies since her high-profile ER departure. We’ll see if she earns her sea legs at the box office like her pal George Clooney.
