2002 Fall Movie Guide — The Tuxedo

The Tuxedo

The Players: Jackie Chan, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ritchie Coster, Jason Isaacs, Debi Mazar, Mia Cottet, Peter Stormare, James Brown.

The Skinny: Jackie Chan plays Charlie McCoy, a bumbling New York City cab driver who is hired to be the chauffeur for a mysterious man named Clark Devlin. When Devlin is hospitalized, Charlie takes over his covert mission for the United States government. To do so, he inherits Devlin’s super-powered tuxedo that enables him with supernatural combat skills.

The Bottom Line: Sounds like The Mask with a bit of kung-fu action. But with Jackie Chan in the lead, you are guaranteed to bust a gut and leave the theater feeling thoroughly entertained.
