Character bio: As the other half of the murderin’ duo in Chicago, Zeta-Jones belts her way into the limelight as Velma Kelley, a sexy, ballsy songtress who has a sensational nightclub act. One fateful night, she blanks out and shoots her philandering husband after she catches him cheating. She lives the high life in jail and hires Chicago’s slickest lawyer to keep her notorious murder case on the front page. But then comes Roxie Hart, a wannabe singer/dancer who’s own murder case overshadows Velma’s. This doesn’t stop her, however, from trying to ruin Roxie.
