You Can See Everything is making a major impact at the box office. The documentary from Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim earned more than $15 million during its opening weekend, marking the biggest documentary debut in more than two decades.

Distributed by A24, the film opened on fewer than 900 screens across North America but still attracted significant audiences. Several screenings in major cities, including Los Angeles and New York, reportedly sold out despite the documentary’s three-hour runtime. A24 described the release as one of the largest limited openings of the 21st century.
What Is You Can See Everything About?
The documentary centers on Elizabeth Holmes, the former Theranos founder who was convicted of wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud investors. Holmes became a prominent figure in the technology industry before the collapse of her blood-testing company and her subsequent criminal conviction.
Fielder and Oppenheim spent years developing the project in secrecy. The filmmakers captured footage of Holmes and her partner, Billy Evans, in the period leading up to her imprisonment in 2023. Fielder also appears in the film, interviewing the couple as the story unfolds in unexpected directions.
The film premiered as a surprise at the Telluride Film Festival last month, generating considerable attention ahead of its theatrical release.
‘YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING’ could make history as the first documentary to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

A Major Box Office Milestone
Beyond its opening weekend total, You Can See Everything recorded the strongest debut for a film released on fewer than 1,000 screens since Borat in 2006. It also became the highest-opening non-music documentary since Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004.
The film has received strong early reviews, earning a 99% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.8 rating on Letterboxd, according to reports.
Although You Can See Everything finished second at the North American box office behind Street Fighter, its limited release has established it as one of the year’s most talked-about documentaries.
The film is scheduled to expand nationwide next weekend, giving more audiences an opportunity to experience the project that has already made box office history.
