Buzz: Barrymore camp denies not-so-live “SNL” rumors

Despite rumors to the contrary, Drew Barrymore‘s camp unequivocally denies reports that the Riding In Cars With Boys star did not perform live on Saturday Night Live‘s Oct. 13 show after an assistant to NBC Nightly News’ Tom Brokaw was discovered to have been exposed to anthrax in another part of the network’s Rockefeller Center where SNL is shot.

“Drew arrived on Monday the 8th and was in New York all week rehearsing for the show,” the star’s PR guru Eddie Michaels told us. “She followed the normal schedule, did the dress rehearsal show on Saturday evening from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., and at 11:30 p.m. she hosted the live show.”

Michaels added that Barrymore and hubby Tom Green attended the traditional SNL after-party and then left for Los Angeles on Sunday morning. ‘The day that there was the most confusion was on the Friday before the show,” Michaels said, as that was the day the NBC employee’s condition was discovered. “But everything went exactly as planned on the set Saturday.”

Barrymore also took heat last week when shock jock Howard Stern publicly criticized celebrities for fleeing the Big Apple in the wake of the recent tragedies and health scares, singling out, among others, Barrymore and Heather Graham.
