Why We Loved It So Much: Twilight‘s ethereal vampiress Victoria is beautiful, convincingly ruthless and terribly sexy — in that I’m-gonna-effin’-kill-you kind of way — all thanks to actress Rachelle Lefevre. We’re as salty as you all are that Bryce Dallas Howard is replacing Rachelle in the third installment, Eclipse. What the Forks, right?
Now, Not So Much: We don’t have a ton of things against Bryce (just Spider-Man 3, Lady in the Water and the my-father-is-Ron Howard-nepotism thing), but replacing an actress beloved by millions of intensely devoted fans is like taking on the Cullens in a little game of baseball — and that’s an unwinnable game. Maybe the moviemakers think throwing any redhead into the role will work, but it’s Rachelle’s disembodied noggin we want to see rolling around on the ground in Eclipse — not Peter Parker’s annoying love interest.
Undead aside, Lefevre is also the friendliest, most informative and well-spoken cast member we talked to on the set of New Moon. The genuinely nice actress (she flew her little sister in to hang out on set) has been called the “mama hen” of the production and the go-to girl for advice, support or the latest Robsten gossip. She also worked her ass off (literally, she was tiny) to bust out New Moon‘s badass action scenes. Even stunt coordinator J.J. Makaro said, “She’s been doing some really awesome work for us … We don’t have to baby her. She’s really keen and a really hard worker. So it’s a pleasure doing it.”
Shame there was a “conflict” with Rachelle. But look at all the conflict this new casting has heavily stirred.
