Nicholson plays Warren Schmidt, a not particularly bitter yet not
particularly happy insurance salesman who, at age 66, has no particular
plans for retirement other than to drive around in the motor home
his wife insisted they buy. Yet when his wife suddenly dies, he finds
himself with a mission–to drive cross-country to postpone the imminent
marriage of his daughter (Hope Davis) to Randall (Dermot Mulroney),
a man Warren doesn’t approve of, while making discoveries about
himself in the process. Also stars Oscar winner Kathy Bates.

The
Guru
Ramu Gupta (Jimi Mistry),
a young Indian man, heads to New York City in pursuit of fame and
fortune–only to wind up working menial jobs. Good fortune comes to
Ramu in a strange way when he is mistaken for a spiritual healer at
a socialite’s party and becomes an overnight celebrity with
the city’s elite hanging on to his every word. The trouble is, he
is also falling in love with Sharonna (Heather Graham), an adult film
star, who is Ramu’s friend and unwittingly the real source of
his seemingly profound insights. Ramu soon finds that he must choose
between his newfound notoriety or love. Also stars Marisa Tomei.
