Back story: The whole time Wahlberg was climbing to A-list status with Three Kings, The Perfect Storm and the upcoming Planet of the Apes, he was involved in one of the most low-key relationships on the Young Hollywood scene. How did it work? “I always liked people who were older than me,” Brewster said once. “I just can’t imagine dating a 20-year-old boy.” But how did the former white rapper and the Yale student stay incognito about their romance? Brewster told Movieline: “We just know where to go, especially in L.A. If you want to get attention, you know where to go. And if you don’t, you go to more subdued places.”

But… After dodging marriage rumors for months, their romance ended as quietly as it began earlier this year. Wahlberg has hinted it was their different backgrounds–he grew up in the Boston ‘hood, she was born with a silver spoon (her grandfather is the former president of Yale). “There’s nothing wrong with being privileged, but it reminds me of how hard I’ve had to work to get where I have,” Wahlberg told Vanity Fair. “I have a hard time hearing about living on Fifth Ave. and having housekeepers and going to Yale.”
