Cute-on-the-inside America Ferrera stars as the unsightly Betty, a girl who despite her looks, has made it to the bible of the high-fashion world, Mode, working as an assistant. While there, the determined Betty must navigate her way through the highbrow, venomous inhabitants of the industry–namely, cutthroat fashionista Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams)–and in the interim can’t help but explore the ‘true’ meaning of outer beauty.
