One of the main themes with this year’s programming of Shark Week is the importance of sharks to our environment. “Dirty Jobs” (which was recently nominated for an Emmy) shows how Greenland’s sharks can help us understand the speedy ecological changes going on.

Don’t miss tonight’s special, “Mysteries of the Shark Coast,” which follows scientists who are trying to determine why sharks are disappearing in Australia’s northeastern coast! Discovery has a Shark Conservation blog up as well.
