Movin’ out
How I Met Your Mother got me thinking: Can a relationship survive moving in together and then moving out? And if so, for how long? Wow, that was a Carrie Bradshaw moment. But that’s just what happened with Robin and Ted on Monday’s episode. After loading all of Ted’s belongings into a moving truck, Barney goes to great lengths to prevent his friends from making a horrible mistake. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lilly realize living by themselves isn’t all it’s crack up to be, and they start to miss Ted. But Ted and Robin mutually decide they just aren’t ready for the next step in their relationship and Ted moves back in with Marshall and Lilly. Is he still going to live with them when they get married? It’s time for Ted to put on his big boy pants.
And disco lights swirled
Tuesday’s American Idol left me with pains in my stomach from laughing so hard. Ashley Ferl, a teenage fan, was hysterically crying throughout Sanjaya’s performance. She seemed to be in awe of him…and his hair. But to give Sanjaya some credit, he didn’t sound terrible. Actually, none of the contestants gave bad performances–and the judges didn’t have many negative things to say. The Idol hopefuls seemed right in their element performing songs from the 60’s British Invasion. Paula was loving Blake Lewis’s performance of “Time of Seasons” while Simon preferred Haley’s rendition of “Tell Him.” It looked as though she was performing on a whole different stage that night: One that has a pole mounted to the ceiling with disco lights swirling around. Even though Simon thought Chris Richardson’s performance was his best to date, it didn’t save him from being in the bottom two along with Stephanie Edwards. But Stephanie’s performance couldn’t secure her a spot in the competition and was sent packing. Sanjaya is deservedly safe for another week. Hollywood.com sounds off on the Top 10 contestants.
Taking INNventory
I’m not proud to admit this but I actually watched the season premiere of Tori and Dean: Inn Love on Tuesday night. It’s a new reality show on Oxygen following former Beverly Hills 90210 alum Tori Spelling and her actor/husband Dean McDermott as they try to open a Bed & Breakfast. In order to raise some extra cash for their new venture, the couple decide to have a yard sale. But this is no ordinary yard sale. Tori literally empties out a warehouse full of precious memorabilia. By precious I mean stuffed animals, 90210 trading cards, shoes, and even a dress she wore the night she lost her virginity–blood stain and all (and you know some sicko bought that dress). While Dean was trying to decide what to part with, Tori gave him some helpful advice: “If it doesn’t say Gucci or Prada then get rid of it!” What a motto to live by. The highlight of the episode was when Perez Hilton–The Queen of all Media– wore one of Tori’s green tube tops as a dress. For all you men out there who were wondering, he wears Boxer Briefs. HOT PINK boxer briefs. Check out Hollywood.com’s Q&A session with Tori!
More island explosions
John Locke’s character on Lost sure likes to blow things up. First it was the hatch, then a “communication center” and now a submarine. I know he doesn’t want to leave the “magical island” but why prevent those who do? Ben couldn’t have been happier that Locke ruined everyone’s chance for freedom. He was so pleased that he got Locke a present. To find out what the gift was and to learn how Locke ended up in the wheel chair, click here for Hollywood.com’s Lost Recap.
Riding the blackout train
It was painful to watch the first five minutes of Grey’s Anatomy Thursday night. After waking up naked and hungover, Izzie can’t believe she slept with her best friend, George–a recently married man. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) for George, he has no recollection of the evenings festivities. It’s not until later in the episode, when he’s having lunch with Callie’s father, does he start to have flashbacks– the kind that leave you cringing with embarrassment, or in his case, guilt. But to spare Callie’s feelings, he decides to keep this secret to himself. What a good guy. Meanwhile, the race for Chief continues with Dr. Sloan (aka Dr. McSteamy) taking the lead.
Fast forward
The Office returns Thursday night with an all new episode. Is Roy really going to kill Jim after Pam confessed they shared a smooch? I hope you know how to fight Jimbo! On Lost, someone might be banished from the beach community for their poor behavior. Can they really do that? Also, on October Road, tragedy strikes after Sam is sent on a secret mission by his mother (Hannah) and her best friend, Janet.
