Two vampiric stars have boarded the upcoming “based on a true story” movie Kid Cannabis: Twilight‘s Kellan Lutz and Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev.
The film, to be helmed by actor/director John Stockwell (Turistas, Crazy/Beautiful), is based on a 2005 Rolling Stone magazine article about a multimillion-dollar marijuana business built by suburban teenagers in Idaho.
Up-and-coming Project X star Jonathan Daniel Brown is also on board, playing a depressed 18-year-old who assembles his friends to smuggle drugs across the Canadian border.” So Kid Cannabis isn’t quite an all-vampire cast, but close! Especially when you consider that original Twilight actor Cam Gigandet was once attached to play the male lead. And maybe a few more stars of such fare could still round out the cast: Let Me In‘s Chloe Moretz, perhaps? Or Danny Huston, the creepiest vamp from 30 Days of Night, as a father of one of the troubled teens? Although, if the movie takes on a stoner-y tone, zombies might be the more fitting undead group from which actors should be plucked.
