Live Action Lilo & Stitch: What To Expect
Like the animated film, the story follows Stitch, the adorable blue alien as he crashes down to earth and becomes best friends with an Orphan named Lilo. It’s the heartwarming kind of film that will have you in tears one moment, then reaching for tissues the next. Upon its 2002 release, it was one of Disney’s most progressive films, exploring acceptance, inclusion, family (Ohana), and Hawaiian culture.
Disney has enlisted Dean Fleischer-Camp to direct the film, a choice that feels perfectly fitting given his success with the irresistibly charming and heartwarming Marcel the Shell with Shoes On. The film has cast newcomer Maia Kealoha in the lead role, with Kealoha set to portray Lilo.
