A California man is suing the makers of The Hangover Part II for allegedly ripping of his true-life story, THR reports. (Funny, I always thought it ripped off the first Hangover.) Michael Alan Rubin filed suit in a Federal court last week, claiming that the idea for Warner Bros.’ blockbuster comedy sequel, which to date has grossed over a half-billion dollars worldwide, is stolen from a script he wrote about his tumultuous 2007 honeymoon, spent in Thailand and India. In his battle against the formidable studio, Rubin is opting for what’s commonly referred to as the “standard crazy-person” legal strategy, which is to say he’s representing himself. Rumor has it he intends to call JFK and Gandhi as character witnesses. We wish him the best of luck.
