So, Meryl Streep (as if there was any other option) is taking on the role of Margaret Thatcher, one of the most iconic figures in modern history. The film will catalogue Thatcher’s rise to prominence, focusing on all the measures she took to gain and maintain the image of a powerful female world leader.
As seen here in the trailer, Thatcher will undergo somewhat of a transformation in order to win over the United Kingdom and earn her people’s trust and confidence. This is only one component of what makes her one of the greatest world leaders of the 20th Century.
The Iron Lady will reach theaters December 16.
