Someone has leaked the red band trailer for David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo onto the internet, and as a person who has read all three of Stieg Larsson’s books in the Millennium trilogy, I can tell you that THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT WOOLLY MAMMOTH OF A MOVIE! I understand the footage makes very little sense to those of you who haven’t read the books, and this trailer (or teaser, fine) isn’t meant to make you feel like you need to go read anything before you see the film. In fact, the visuals seem to be evidence of how intensely the reading material was respected and adhered to, and it’s a good thing to see that the studio didn’t insist that Fincher leave out some of the more grotesque scenes. It’s really just meant to prove that Fincher and Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara and everyone else in the cast didn’t just go to Sweden and prank people by having pizzas sent to their house and that they actually made a movie.
