Release Date for Jeremy Renner’s ‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters’ Pushed Back

7790926.jpgParamount has pushed back the release date for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, Deadline.com reports. The action-comedy, which stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as fairytale bounty hunters, has been moved from March 2012 to January 11, 2013, presumably to allow more time for either Renner or Arterton to become a big-enough star to sell an action-comedy about fairytale bounty hunters.

In other Paramount release-date news, the Eddie Murphy comedy A Thousand Words has been moved from March 23, 2012, to April 20, 2012, while the Duplass Brothers’ latest film, Jeff, Who Lives at Home, has been pushed back from March 2 of this year to March 16. The latter will give the sibling directors more time to put the finishing touches on the complex CGI work that has come to distinguish their high-gloss “mumblecore” efforts.
