Screen Actors Guild Awards Recognize ‘The Help,’ ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’

Viola DavisLast night, the 18th Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards broadcast, celebrating excellence in the performance of those harshly unappreciated figures of the film and television industry: actors. Following the pattern of award shows so far this year, SAG recognized The Help cast members, specifically Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer, as outstanding performances among those of 2011. In terms of television, a couple of big wins came in for Boardwalk Empire, while actors from Modern Family, 30 Rock and Mildred Pierce were also recognized.
