Two days ago, Sacha Baron Cohen caused a stir when he made an unexpected pop-in at the CinemaCon gathering in Las Vegas … as General Aladeen. Those in attendance probably would’ve been a little more comfortable with today’s Dictator news: The movie’s opening scene has made its way online.
The video introduces viewers in earnest to Cohen’s dictator in a newsy segment, with (an edited-in) President Obama weighing in on the nuclear “standoff between the world community and the rogue North African nation of Wadiya”: “I will take no options off the table, and I mean what I say,” says the prez in a clip whose mere clearance by all of Washington, D.C., is mildly surprising.
The end of the clip features the Olympic-race scene — wherein Aladeen shoots his competitors to ensure a first-place finish — with which we’re all probably familiar by now. But it’s no less chuckle-worthy this time around! Check out the clip below and The Dictator when it hits theaters, May 16.
