New Line has hired Scott Zabielski to direct its long-planned Police Academy reboot, Deadline reports. Zabielski, who’ll be making his feature-film debut, is currently employed by Comedy Central as the director of Tosh.O (pictured right), a series which many will be surprised to learn requires the services of a director. (Hey, somebody’s got to sort through all of those wacky youtube clips.) Lest you think Zabielski unqualified, Deadline is quick to add that he “went through the academy and is a reserve police officer in West Hollywood.” Which I suppose counts for something.
