Tracy Morgan Lines Up New Projects

ALTSource: Deadline

30 Rock‘ star Tracy Morgan is riding high after the not too shabby opening weekend of his buddy comedy ‘Cop Out‘. The payoff –  deals for two new projects that he’ll topline.

The first puts him back in business with Warner Bros. (who distributed ‘Cop Out’) with ‘ID Theft’, in which he’ll play “a cash-strapped father who sees a shortcut out of his struggles when the credit card of a suburban dad lands in his lap.”

On the other side of Hollywood, Paramount Pictures has secured the Emmy nominee to star in ‘Freshman Roommates‘ alongside TJ Miller (She’s Out Of My League). The film follows a guy (Miller) who answers one of those Nigerian e-mail scams, only to have the spoiled son of a deposed African dictator (Morgan), showing up at his door and looking for his inheritance.

There’s no word on which project will start first, but it looks like 2011 will be a big year for the 41 year old funny man.
