Training Day cast and crew dedicate new episode to Bill Paxton after actor’s shock death

Late actor Bill Paxton’s new TV show Training Day dedicated its latest episode to the star.
The TV follow-up to the 2001 film, which earned Denzel Washington his second Best Actor Oscar, kicked off in early February (17), with only four episodes screened before Bill’s shock death on Saturday (25Feb17).
Before episode five of Training Day aired on Thursday (02Feb17), CBS shared a touching tribute to the veteran star.
“In loving memory of our friend and colleague Bill Paxton 1955- 2017”, the text read, next to a black and white image of a smiling Bill.
The dedication was also uploaded to the show’s Twitter account, adding “We will always remember you, Bill Paxton”.
There are still eight more episodes left of season one.
Bill passed away at the age of 61 from complications following heart surgery. He died on the eve of the 2017 Oscars, meaning there wasn’t enough time to add him to the In Memoriam portion of the ceremony, which honours those who have died in the last 12 months. However Jennifer Aniston, who introduced the segment, paid an emotional tribute to him.
“Each and every one (of those in the segment) was a cherished member of our Hollywood family. As was beloved actor and friend who left us just yesterday – Bill Paxton,” she told the audience, as she choked back tears.
“All were loved, and all will be missed.”
Rob Lowe, Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Elijah Wood, Ben Stiller and Selma Blair are among the Hollywood stars who have also paid tribute to the Titanic star.
