Disney has finally given us some news we can use regarding next year’s Tron Legacy — plus a poster!
First, there’s a release date: Dec. 17, 2010. Thus the movie will not be squaring off against the summer behemoth that is — er, will be — Iron Man 2 but will do battle with Yogi Bear!
Now to the poster, which looks something like Speed Racer gone cool (and neon) and features a none-too-pleased Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) seemingly evading two dudes who don’t wish him well:

Jeff Bridges (star of the 1982 original), Michael Sheen and Olivia Wilde (as Sam’s love interest) will co-star in Legacy, from first-time director Joseph Kosinski (who will also be helming the Logan’s Run remake.
And here is the studio’s newly released synopsis/tease: TRON: LEGACY is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant Quorra (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.
