Though the setting of X-Men: First Class is different than the period in which the franchises other films take place, the American government’s sentiment toward mutants hasn’t changed. In this brand new clip from the film, Professor X (James McAvoy) attempts to explain his cause to a couple of CIA agents (one has a name that should be familiar to fans of the previous films), but is met with the same kind of hostility we’ve seen in the future. He’s joined by Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, who shows them what mutants are capable of.
