Mahershala Ali’s Stars In ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’: Everything You Need To Know

Mahershala Ali is stepping into another intense action role with Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, a new thriller from Amazon MGM Studios. The Oscar-winning actor stars as a widowed father whose dangerous past becomes impossible to leave behind as he struggles to protect his three children.

The film is directed by Bassam Tariq, who was previously attached to direct Marvel’s Blade reboot starring Ali.

The newly released trailer introduces Ali’s Latif, a deeply religious man attempting to balance single fatherhood with his violent profession. The footage teases emotional family drama alongside intense action, with Latif using a sword rather than a traditional firearm as he follows his own moral code.

The trailer also highlights the character’s grief following his wife’s death and the enormous responsibility of raising three children alone.

Mahershala Ali leads the cast as Latif, a devout Muslim, recent widower and skilled hitman who becomes a reluctant “secret weapon” while trying to provide for his family.

The ensemble includes John Cho, Giancarlo Esposito, Abubakr Ali, Tramell Tillman, Tiffany Boone and Laith Nakli.

Directed and written by Tariq, the film combines a personal story about grief and parenthood with action-thriller elements as Latif is forced to confront the dangerous world he has tried to separate from his family life.

Release Date

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother will open in select theaters on September 25, 2026, before expanding to a wider theatrical release in October.

With Ali leading an action-driven story from Tariq, the film marks an intriguing collaboration between the actor and filmmaker following their departure from the planned Blade project.
