Us Weekly magazine is reporting that musician spouses Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are expecting their first child together. The baby is due in June.
Both Stefani’s mother, Patti, and Rossdale’s father, Douglas, have confirmed the pregnancy according to the magazine, with the latter saying, “We are delighted.”
The announcement comes on the heels of 36-year-old Stefani’s five Grammy nominations, including one for the coveted Album of the Year for Love.Angel.Music.Baby.
The pop star’s first attempt at a solo album—without her band No Doubt behind her—has proven quite successful, with Grammy-nominated (for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance) “Hollaback Girl” proving to be one of the year’s most popular songs.
In 2004, the British-born Rossdale learned through a DNA test that he fathered a daughter, now age 16, when he was involved in a relationship with fashion designer Pearl Lowe.
Rossdale, 38, was the lead singer for rock band Bush, which had a smash hit in 1994 with Sixteen Stone, but have not released an album of new material since 2001’s Golden State. The band’s greatest hits album hit shelves in November.
