While it looks like the mystery of Beyoncé’s curiously deflating baby bump remains, Radar Online reports Jessica Simpson is preparing to confirm her pregnancy to the masses! The website claims it exclusively learned Simpson already told some of her close friends and family she’s expecting, but won’t officially reveal the news to her fans until she’s past her first trimester. However, when Radar contacted Eric Johnson’s father Stephen and confronted him about the possibility of having a new grandchild, he played what Radar described as “coy” and said “I haven’t heard anything yet. Is she pregnant? I better give them a call if she is! I wish it would happen! It’s just a matter of logistics. They have had so much to do.”
But they really don’t have THAT much to do UNLESS they are expecting a baby, since Simpson postponed her wedding to Johnson last month because she apparently couldn’t commit to a date or decide if she wanted an elaborate wedding or a more intimate one. And while planning a wedding certainly is so stressful sometimes that it makes the engaged couple just want to elope, picking color schemes and place settings and a venue usually isn’t enough to make people want to hold off on the nuptials all together. But a baby certainly is! It just seems much more likely Simpson wanted to wait until she wasn’t pregnant to walk down the aisle because she’d want to be able to wear the dress of her dreams with confidence and without worrying about how the media (which has been notoriously critical of her weight in recent years) would hone in on and criticize her changing figure. And even though seems like we’re a long way from any of that (as again, Simpson is just getting ready to let us in on the big news) there’s one important thing to keep in mind: if she truly wasn’t pregnant, she probably would have said something already.
