It seems that ever since the VMA’s (or did it really begin with that first episode of Hannah Montana?), the internet has been bombarding us with images of Miley Cyrus. Whether it’s a gossip blog reporting on her love life, a more high-brow publication analyzing the racial and gender implications of her VMA performance, or a meme broadcasting her crazy fashion choices, it seems that the media is right where Miley wants it. Look, I’m doing it to you RIGHT NOW.
Luckily, there’s an escape. Someone has created a Chrome extension that will make the words “Miley Cyrus,” “Miley Ray Cyrus,” “MileyCyrus,” “twerk,” “twerking,” and “Wrecking Ball” illegible. The extension also ingeniously blurs any pictures of the pop star. And, for good measure, they’ve apparently blocked references to the Kardashians too. The internet is yours again. Stop humming “Wrecking Ball” and breathe. Download the extension here.
