All you people can stare as long and as hard as you want at those pictures of Ryan Gosling embracing that bulldog on the set of his upcoming movie, Gangster Squad, but there’s still one thing he’s done in his past that isn’t worthy of such blind adoration. On March 17th, 2005, Gosling was arrested in central Los Angeles and charged driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and for driving with a blood alcohol content that was .08 or higher. However, the charges were later dropped down to a misdemeanor of exhibiting speed, which Gosling pleaded “no contest” to. Radar Online explains that lawyers often allow for people to be charged with “exhibiting speed” in circumstances that aren’t severe enough to warrant a DUI charge, and Gosling successfully completed two years of probation and paid $849 in fines. But seeing as The Notebook had just come out at the time of his arrest, perhaps it’s not entirely irrational to believe that maybe he was quite possibly trying to get away from one of you?
