Tyler Perry juggles a ridiculous amount of projects and wears a ridiculous amount of hats, but man, does it pay off: Madea him-/herself is the highest paid-man in entertainment, according to a new Forbes magazine list.
Between May 2010 and 2011, Perry raked in a whopping $130 million — more than the earnings of Nos. 2 and 3, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Steven Spielberg.
In that year span, Perry has written, directed, produced and/or starred in various projects, including but not limited to movies Why Did I Get Married Too and Madea’s Big Happy Family and his TV show House of Payne — and when you’re responsible for almost every aspect of a production the way Perry is, you reap the rewards, er, millions (and you get to show possession by putting your name before every title).
The only other actor on the list was Leonardo DiCaprio, who earned $77 million, good enough for the No. 7 spot, while Elton John and Simon Cowell rounded out the top five.
