Perhaps the judge was an Usher fan? On Friday a verdict was finally reached in the ongoing custody battle between Usher and his ex, Tameka Foster Raymond; and it was a surprising one.
In a rare occurrence, the Grammy-winning R&B singer was awarded primary custody of the couple’s two young sons. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane ruled in favor of the 33-year-old singer, allowing him to be the primary caregiver for Usher Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd Ely Ramond, 3 starting at the beginning of next month.
Usher’s ex — whom he married in 2007 and divorced two years later — was granted visitation rights, but the full details of the arrangement have yet to be worked out.
