Fresh off the success of The Princess and the Frog, Disney returns with another fairytale-inspired animated musical, this time taking on the Grimm Brothers’ classic Rapunzel. Former pop songstress Moore lends her voice to the magically maned heroine held captive in a tower; Chuck star Levi plays the rakish bandit who becomes her unlikely champion.

What We Think: Like Frog, Tangled fondly recalls the best of Disney’s hand-drawn fare, like Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid, that helped make it the predominant animated studio in the pre-Pixar era.

Cool to Know: Properly animating Rapunzel’s 70 feet of hair -- comprising up to 140,000 individual strands -- required Disney technicians to invent an entirely new set of software tools.
