According to MTV.com, Lopez is now the highest paid Latin actress in history. She also has her own clothing line, perfume and some of the highest profile romances in Hollywood. Unlike many of the ladies on our list, this pop star of Puerto Rican descent actually started out as an actress, not a singer, when she made her film debut in My Little Girl (1986) at age 16. Thanks to her dancing skills, she became a fly girl on the Fox comedy series In Living Color (1990). Under the stage name Melinda Lopez, she appeared on the television series Second Chances (1993) and Hotel Malibu (1994).

She later landed roles in My Family, Mi Familia, Selena, Out of Sight, The Wedding Planner, Angel Eyes and the recent Maid in Manhattan.
