The fight is officially on. Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment have unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, offering fans a high-energy look at the latest adaptation of Capcom’s iconic fighting game franchise.
The new film embraces the series’ arcade roots while giving its legendary fighters a story built around rivalry, friendship and an international martial arts tournament. With a distinctly nostalgic 1990s setting, Street Fighter looks ready to deliver plenty of action for longtime players and newcomers alike.
Street Fighter Trailer
The new Street Fighter trailer puts Andrew Koji’s Ryu and Noah Centineo’s Ken Masters at the center of the action. The footage showcases explosive martial arts sequences, supernatural abilities and recognizable moves from the games, including the iconic Hadouken.
Paramount and Legendary also made the trailer interactive on YouTube, allowing viewers to engage with the footage in a playable experience. The trailer launched as part of the film’s World Warrior Tour in Japan, with the event taking place on September 1.
The footage also highlights the movie’s colorful 1990s atmosphere, giving the project a retro arcade-inspired identity while translating the franchise’s larger-than-life battles to the big screen. Watch the trailer below.
Cast & Plot
Andrew Koji stars as Ryu, while Noah Centineo plays Ken Masters and Callina Liang portrays Chun-Li. The ensemble also includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Joe Anoaʻi as Akuma and Hirooki Goto as E. Honda.
Set in 1993, the story follows estranged fighters Ryu and Ken after Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. What begins as a massive clash between elite fighters soon becomes more complicated as a dangerous conspiracy emerges, forcing the rivals to confront their shared history.
Street Fighter Release Date
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter is scheduled to arrive exclusively in theaters on October 16, 2026. With its combination of familiar characters, signature moves and 1990s nostalgia, the film aims to bring the beloved video-game franchise to a new generation.
