‘Hunger Games’ Star Liam Hemsworth’s Australian Kids’ Show Roots: Video

HG_Backbutton_651x113_FINAL.jpg

Liam HemsworthLiam Hemsworth wasn’t always a lovesick puppy pining after Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games or a hunky, somewhat brooding hunk alongside Miley Cyrus in real life and on the big screen. In fact, when he first started out as a young actor in Australia, he was chasing a different teen idol.

In 2008, Hemsworth was a supporting player on an Australian kids’ show called The Elephant Princess. He played jealous ex-boyfriend to protagonist and secret Indian princess, Alex, as well as the guitarist for the girl’s tween pop band. While it’s a far cry from his starring roles today, it seems to have provided a great field to practice his “Sad Gale” look years before he’d need to break it out.
