Two days after the passing of Sopranos star James Gandolfini, an autopsy report confirms that the late actor died of a heart attack.

“We received the results of the autopsy, which stated he died of a heart attack, of natural causes. The autopsy further states that nothing else was found in his system,” family spokesperson Michael Kobold told reporters in Rome.

Gandolfini was found in his hotel room in Italy by his 13-year-old son Michael. The actor was there on vacation,  as well as to attend the Taormina Film Festival.

“We are all devastated by this loss,” Kobold said. “James was a devoted husband, a loving father of two children, a brother and cousin you could always count on. We thank you for the privacy you have afforded us during this difficult time.”
