Rosie O’Donnell Compares Lindsay Lohan to Whitney Houston — Video

ALTRosie O’Donnell swears she didn’t mean to start a fight with Lindsay Lohan when she appeared on The Today Show on Tuesday and said that the 25-year-old star “needs a lot of help” and is “not in a place to work.” Still, the former talk show host returned to the scene of the crime when she went back to Today on Thursday and put the matter to rest when she compared the troubled star to…the late Whitney Houston. (Yep, that should do the trick.)

“I did meet her when she was young and doing the Parent Trap. She did my show,” O’Donnell told hosts Matt Lauer and Ann Curry during her most recent visit this week. O’Donnell called Lohan a “beautiful, talented little kid,” adding, “And then we’ve all seen what’s happened in the last decade. It’s tragic.”

But, O’Donnell found Lohan’s “tragic” story a little too close to another Hollywood tragedy. “I (was) watching Whitney Houston’s funeral, and I remember thinking why didn’t more people say what they knew? We all knew, when she would not show up to do this show, not show up to do my show, we watched Being Bobby Brown and it was like watching Sid and Nancy, they were people who were in the throes of addiction,” the 50-year-old said. “But all that anyone cared about was that the show was getting ratings, not that this woman, this talented individual, this human being, this mother, this daughter, was worth saving and pulling out to the money market industry.”

The self-proclaimed Queen of Nice then went on to say about the Mean Girl, “I know only some can be in control of their own sobriety, but to look at Lindsay Lohan, you can’t help but feel for her. I do not think she’s untalented, I think she’s quite talented.”

Was comparing Lindsay Lohan’s life to Whitney Houston’s a cheap shot or did Rosie O’Donnell actually make a valid point about both the stars? Will this celebrity spat ever end? Pretty please! Watch O’Donnell’s interview below.
