CBS has won the May sweeps for the first time since 1983 in the battle of the network ratings, the network said Thursday. The CBS Thursday night lineup, fueled by the shows as Survivor, CSI, solidify the network’s lead. Survivor: The Australian Outback ranked as the season’s and May’s top program in households, viewers and adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. Monday night’s comedy block also continued to grow, especially Everybody Loves Raymond which, in its fifth season battled Friends> for network television’s top rated comedy. This marks CBS’s first season victory since the 1998-99 season. NBC came in second, followed by ABC, Fox, the WB, UPN and Pax TV.
