At least one hospital in Atlanta isn’t complaining that actress Jane Fonda relocated there 10 years ago. Fonda has donated $1.3 million to the hospital’s adolescent health services. The Grady Health System will use the funds to teach young people about taking care of their reproductive health. In her statement, Fonda said the gift will allow Atlanta to have “state-of-the-art” health services geared for adolescents. Young men as well as women will be targeted in the program.
The Oscar-winning actress, whose exercise videos helped fuel the aerobics craze in the 1980s, founded the nonprofit Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention in 1995.
Since she married cable mogul Ted Turner in 1991, the 62-year-old Fonda has withdrawn from the filmmaking scene. The couple announced their separation in January.
