Four studios shut down mail rooms

Paramount, Disney, Sony and Warner Bros. halted delivery of packages and letters to employees on Friday following word that a worker at a second media company had become infected with anthrax after handling a letter containing a powdery substance.

“We are putting all incoming mail on hold,” a mailroom employee at Sony Pictures told Inside, the online entertainment news magazine. Robert Iger, Disney president and COO, issued a memo to employees on Friday, referring to the latest anthrax incidents and saying, “Due to this news, we have decided to increase the screening of all incoming packages and mail.”
