Teen actor Brad Renfro returned to a Broward County, Fla., court Thursday for violating his probation, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. Renfro was arrested in Knoxville, Tenn., in May on a charge of underage drinking.
A judge sentenced Renfro to two years’ probation in January and ordered him to pay more than $4,000 for repairs to a yacht that he and a friend tried to steal in August. Renfro, who was in Fort Lauderdale at the time working on the film Bully, was accused of trying to drive a yacht from a dock in Holiday Harbor, but damaged the vessel after neglecting to untie the lines.
The hearing will resume Tuesday after Renfro undergoes drug and alcohol testing.
In Bully, a group of Florida teens lure a school bully to a swamp and beat him to death after growing tired of being picked on. The film, based on a real incident, opened Friday in limited theaters.
