Ted Turner to make indie films

Ted Turner is setting up an independent film company, based in Atlanta, that will produce theatrical and television features and documentaries, a Turner spokeswoman said on Friday. As reported by Reuters, Ted Turner Productions will have a “first look” deal with AOL Time Warner but is free to peddle its product elsewhere if the company isn’t interested. Robert Wussler, a former president of Turner Broadcasting System, who now heads the investment group Turner Ventures International, will head TTP.
