The new chairman and CEO of CNN has revealed that he has had several conversations with Ted Turner, the ostracized founder of the cable news network, since he arrived at the network. Interviewed on NPR’s On the Media, Walter Isaacson commented: “Ted Turner was a real visionary to start this network, and he pleaded with me to get it back to great journalism. He has certain strong political beliefs that I don’t fully share, nor do I think the network should promote, and I explained that to him and I think he realizes he has no editorial involvement in the network but does want it to continue to be known for great reporting.”
