Pittsburgh movie theaters: Row House Cinema

Row House Cinema is a single-screen movie theater in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. Row House Cinema holds 84 guests and hosts themed movie weeks that include classic and contemporary films. The theater also screens new documentaries and locally-made movies!

Row House Cinema is located next to Bierport, a taproom and bottle shop where guests can purchase craft and local beers that you are allowed to bring into your movie with you! Row House Cinema also serves all-natural popcorn, chocolate popcorn, and other locally-made concessions.

Row House Cinema hosts a variety of events including Brews and Views where guests are brought beer during key points in the film, and Cereal Cinemas which features an all-you-can-eat cereal bar for morning movies. The theater is also home to film festivals, lectures, and a film club that guests can join!

The Cinemark Monroeville Mall and XD offers Cinemark XD, an enhanced viewing experience with a screen stretching wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling, a state-of-the-art projector, and custom sound with increased speakers. The theater has stadium seating and shows the latest Hollywood releases, as well as foreign films with subtitles.

The Cinemark Monroeville Mall and XD boasts an arcade in the lobby where children and adults can play games before or after their movie! The lobby also has ticket kiosks, making checkout quick and easy for guests. This Cinemark location shows select films in RealD 3D, and has NextGen cinema which includes the latest film viewing technology.

Tickets at the Cinemark Monroeville Mall and XD are reasonably priced, costing $6.50 for a standard film on weekend nights! One reviewer on Google wrote the following: “Love this place. Kiosks make buying/picking up tickets a breeze. Concessions are speedy. Theaters are clean, comfortable, and not too cold (subjective I know, but worth noting).”

Pittsburgh movie theaters: Hollywood Theater

The Hollywood Theater first opened its doors as a silent film theater in 1926. After a number of renovations and changes of ownership, the Hollywood Theater that stands today reopened in 2011 with help from the community. The theater holds up to 300 guests and is fitted with luxury seating.
