‘Boardwalk Empire’ Adds Familiar Face of Dominic Chianese

Junior might not have seemed to be in great shape as The Sopranos came to an end, but the actor who played him, Dominic Chianese, is alive, well and active — and returning to HBO.

Chianese will appear in half of the upcoming season of Boardwalk Empire‘s 12 episodes, reuniting with Sopranos veteran/Boardwalk mastermind Terence Winter.

According to Winter, Chianese will be “almost unrecognizable” as Leander Whitlock, a contemporary of Dabney Coleman’s character, Commodore.

Season 2 premieres Sept. 25.
