Full House creator Jeff Franklin just took his love for his beloved show to a whole other level by purchasing the original Tanner home in San Francisco, California. Located in the Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood at 1709 Broderick Street, the house was first put on the market back in May for the whopping sum of $4.15 million. At 2,500 feet with four bedrooms and three bathrooms,  Franklin was able to swoop in and scoop it up for just under $4 million.

Back in 1987, Franklin handpicked the home for its exterior when showcasing the Tanner home on Full House. His crew paid $500 to shoot exteriors of the home.

Franklin told The Hollywood Reporter, “The house came on the market and really, I just thought, I have to buy this house. I’m so sentimental about the house. It’s great to have the house in our Full House family and be able to preserve it for the fans. … Seriously, I love owning this house.”

Apparently, Franklin is hoping to redo the interior to match the sitcom so that it appears that the Tanners (or Fullers now) actually live there. He hopes to use it in the third season of Fuller House should Netflix greenlight a new season.

There might also be an opportunity to Full House fans to stay in the home. Franklin said, “It’s a shame to let it sit empty.I will be renting it out but I’m not sure yet what, where, when or how. At some point soon I will figure that out.” So, keep an eye out on Airbnb!

Franklin’s first order of business after this mega purchase was to repaint the front door its iconic red. (Previous owners had painted it seafoam green.)
